Wakeemah Sawyer

was born and raised in Jersey City NJ. She graduated from St. Anthony’s High School as an all-around varsity athlete then continued her basketball career at Montclair State University. She later transferred then graduated from Kean University. After an extensive basketball playing career, Wakeemah Sawyer moved to the sidelines and began coaching. From 2018 to 2019, she was the assistant Varsity coach at Harrison High School in addition to instructing for the Garden State AAU program. From 2019-2021, Coach Sawyer was the JV Coach at Hudson Catholic. Off the court, Wakeemah Sawyer is an advertising Art Director and believes that leading by example is the key to success on and off the court.
