Gene Schaedel

grew up in Clinton Township and played varsity basketball for North Hunterdon High School. He later returned to North Hunterdon as the Boys Varsity Assistant Coach during the 2018-2019 season. Currently, Coach Schaedel is the Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at South Hunterdon High School. In his first season at South, he led the Eagles to a 16-12 record, a 5 win improvement from the previous season. They won their first two playoff games to reach the sectional semifinals. In his second season, South went 10-3 and won the Skyland Conference Silver Division Championship, their first postseason championship since 2006. In his third season, South went 18-10 with a Sectional Final appearance, their first since 2006. Coach Schaedel originally began his coaching career in 2013 and has been coaching AAU since 2014. He takes pride in increasing the skill set of all his players while increasing their confidence on the court.
