is an avid basketball player and coach. His basketball career began in Union Township where he was a Varsity player for the Farmers. During high school he was a member of a Group 4 Section 2 state sectional title winning team. From 2001-2005, his basketball career then continued as a four year starter for Montclair State University in a highly competitive New Jersey Athletic Conference as a shooting guard/small forward. Mike was part of a dynamic team that in his sophomore year helped bring Montclair to its first NJAC Championship since 1982, scoring 21 points and grabbing 7 rebounds to aid in the win. In 2003 Mike was given the prestigious award of “Outstanding Male Athlete” at Montclair State University. One of the highlights of his basketball tenure was reaching the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Division 3 National Tournament.
Since the completion of his college career Mike has worked at numerous basketball clinics across New Jersey. He has coached several teams and also does one on one training. Mike is currently a K-12 Physical Education Teacher in the Elizabeth School District where he is currently coaching boys’ basketball. Mike has a complete understanding of the game of basketball, as well as the importance of fundamental mastery of skills.
