Sandy Whelan

was the head coach at Bernards High School from 2013-2018 where she achieved five straight winning seasons, including most wins in school history. She led team to two consecutive undefeated conference division championships and was named the Division Conference Coach of the Year. Prior to Bernards, Coach Whelan was the head coach at Watchung Hills (1996-2013) where she accomplished the best five records in school history, earned three conference championships, received #1 county ranking three years in a row, and was named the Somerset County Coach of the Year. Before coaching, Sandy Whelan played high school basketball at Hunterdon Central then collegiate basketball at Lehigh University.
